Symmetrical composition of flowers and birds, with the pattern also having connotations of festivity and auspiciousness. Batik, a technique of beeswax drawing and dyeing, is usually to carefully sketch out patterns on a self-woven white cloth. The cloth is then dipped in a solution of blue indigo several times, then placed in boiling water to remove the wax-resistant dye.
