The fabric is produced with recycled wax. Recycled wax is wax that has been repeatedly used and is dark blue due to plant dye. Batik is a traditional craft with a history of over one thousand years. It is a technique that involves beeswax and dyeing. Miao women use melted beeswax to draw patterns on self woven white cloth. The cloth is then soaked into a barrel of indigo dye several times before it is taken out, then boiled in a pot to remove the wax and rinsed in water to remove the excess dye.
