Split-thread stitch, double-thread chain stitch and stack stitch are used. Split-thread stitch and double-thread chain stitch are the representatives of the embroidery in this region. The collar is made of stack stitch, and the base fabric is made of cowhide. The patterns in the Shidong area are mostly animals, such as cows, fishes, dragons, butterflies, divine birds. The figures represent the leaders or heroes of their ethnic groups. The embroidered cow uniquely depicts a translucent view of the cow’s internal organs.
