Although the continuous batik patterns are simple, a closer look reveals the high level of craftsmanship that has gone into making them. Batik is the main technique used to produce these pants. Batik involves wax drawing and dyeing and is a traditional art that has been used by the Miao people for thousands of years. Creating a batik piece of clothing is time consuming, labour intensive and takes great skill. The art of batik has been passed down through many generations.
